Minneapolis Wedding Planner | Tom + Kristin's Hutton House Wedding

Kristin and Tom reside in Denver, but they opted to celebrate their wedding day in Minneapolis. We are so happy they did! We loved working with this sweet, stylish, and FUN pair. Just wait until you see and read more about their late summer soiree!

K+T found the perfect wedding venue for their minimalist style in The Hutton House. Located a quick drive away from downtown Minneapolis, the modern outdoor garden, towering ceilings in the ballroom, and lake views make the space feel as though couples and their guests are truly escaping from the bustling city center with the great perk of only being a few miles away. And, Kristin and Tom had gorgeous weather for their celebration, so all of the spaces could truly be used and enjoyed to their full potential. 

While their team of wedding professionals transformed The Hutton House, the soon-to-be newlyweds each spent their mornings getting ready offsite. The ladies enjoyed hair by Ziel Bridal and makeup by Maggie J while the gents perfected their tuxedos. Once they were ready, Tom was blindfolded for his ride to The Hutton House – a move by his wedding party that was ingenious and also very laughable! In the meantime, Kristin put on her wedding dress, and we have to note how much we adored the beaded bodice. Before seeing Tom at the venue, she shared a sweet first look with her very excited dad, which we loved witnessing!

With its white walls and black trimmed details, The Hutton House served as the perfect styled location for Kristin and Tom’s first look. Just like the moment she shared with her dad shortly beforehand, Tom was equally (if not slightly more!) excited to see his bride for the first time. And, they greeted each other once more during her walk down the aisle during their outdoor wedding ceremony set in the garden at The Hutton House. Their wedding party walked down the aisle to “Shallow”, and K+T had an incredible background, thanks to their copper arch accented with greenery by Kindred Blooms, to exchange their personalized vows. 

Guests mingled outside in the garden and played outdoor games during cocktail hour while the transformation of the reception space inside The Hutton House was completed. A floral and greenery watercolor seating chart awaited guests to help them to find their seat, greenery and candles placed in clear vessels lined the tables, and blush flowers in geometric vases accented the space. Everyone enjoyed a menu by Chowgirls Killer Catering and cupcakes by Farina Baking Company before making sure to keep the dance floor filled for the rest of the night, with help from Instant Request DJ, until Kristin and Tom ran through sparklers during their grand exit. 

Sentimental Touches

We wanted to give you some back story to the photo of Kristin and Tom holding the book in front of The Hutton House’s book library. The author, Kate Slattery, was one of Kristin’s very best friends who lived in San Fransisco. She was hit on her bike and tragically killed on her way to work a couple of years ago.

After she died her friends and family found rough drafts of multiple children’s books in her belongs. Her family self published "Fly with Maya" to carry on her honor.

Kristin and Tom found it very touching to leave Kate’s book there on their wedding day.

You may have noticed that Kristin has a tattoo of Kate’s hot air balloon on her forearm. There is also a gold hot air balloon candle holder in the photos - This candle has been apart of every one of her girlfriend’s weddings to honor Kate’s memory.
